About the product
A common shrub along the Mediterranean coast, Lentisque pistachier can reach a height of 200 centimeters and belongs to
the Anacardiaceae family. It is also a medicinal plant endemic to Europe.
Lentisque pistachier, also known as mastic, is native to Chios Island in the Aegean Sea. The tree must be 10 years old before it
can be harvested, with the season being July and August every year. During harvest, workers uses long knives to make diagonal
cuts on the bark, allowing a secretion to flow out. The secretion appear in the shape of transparent water droplets and slowly
solidify into resin, which is then extracted for essential oils.
The oil has a strong grassy aroma with a hint of ocean-like smell, helping with relaxation. It can support busy lifestyles and eases stress-induced ailments.
